A Body of Colleges

Posted by Hyokano on 2/13/2009

The coordination between advising, the colleges, and within the colleges themselves is a bit disastrous at times, but with the small classes you can bet that the teachers will know who you are when you see them in the street. The classes are more personal and the teachers are very approachable. I don't question the quality of education in at least 95% of the classes I've taken there. Being that it is a private institution however, HPU does have its dictatorial quirks. The Kalamalama college newspaper is filled with censored propaganda, and the President is just as distanced from his students and faculty as was Bush with the rest of the educated public. Eh, hem. . . Retirement? This University has too much potential for certain administrators to be liberally and constantly messing with the programs without actually even seeing the classes happen themselves. For anyone enrolling, I highly recommend planning your entire degree yourself with some leeway for changes in course requirements, as it does tend to happen often. In the end, you have to make the best out of it and not treat college like you're still in high-school. That stuff's for UH.
