A standing memorial to those who lost their lives aboard their ship on December 7, 1941, the USS Arizona Memorial at Pearl Harbor is both a tribute to a lives lost and a way to remember that stunning day. Visitors to the memorial can tour the museum exhibits within the visitors center and watch a short informative video before embarking upon a short boat tour past the memorial, the first erected at Pearl Harbor. The memorial is on the waterfront at Pearl Harbor, a few miles northwest of the city, beside the USS Bowfin Submarine Museum & Park.
